FAQs For our Billingal Digital Translation Talking Tool used by EAL Students.

Our award-winning digital translation talking tools are a cornerstone of EMAS UK. We cover languages, for example, Ukrainian to English and vice versa.
Our Digital Tools are not a Replacement for traditional translation services but a cost-effective way for teachers and pupils to communicate and express thoughts and teach and learn in the language of choice.
EAL is the abbreviation used for English as an alternative language. ESL is a short form of English as a second language. Formerly EAL was known as ESL and, still, people use the ESL title. This term refers to the English teaching in English country but to the people who do not have English as their native language.

EAL students demonstrate the following things:

  • They are not native English speakers. Such students have no exposure to the native English language.
  • They have no proficiency, unlike other students who have been learning English.
  • These students need specific assistance in the classroom

ESOL is an acronym used for English for speakers of other languages. This term refers to the process of teaching English to people speaking other languages. You become an ESOL student when English is not your primary language, and you are starting to learn it.

The ESL program is helpful for learners as it strengthens their listening and speaking skills. The goal of the ESL program is to strengthen and improve the speaking and understanding level of non-native English speakers. There are some direct instructions in reading, learning, writing, and Grammar-based on the content area. This also improves the academic writing in the English language
The amount of time taken to learn English as a secondary language depends on the comprehension of the student. Moreover, it also depends on the age when English was started and from where the student is learning. On average, a student should remain enrolled in ESL for three years or until the student becomes proficient and independent in English.

The translation service uses a unique language translation engine to translate the content you typed in English to Ukrainian. Then a Ukrainian natural voice synthesiser “speaks out loud” in their mother tongue.
The Ukrainian child would then reply in Ukrainian using our on-screen Ukrainian keyboard, reverses the process and translates to English and “speaks out loud” in English. All within a child-friend Instant Message Environment with friendly on-screen “Human Avatars Teachers” actually speaking the text.

The last translation technology is used in our Digital tool to perform the translation. The translation software evolves and learns daily through AI and provides accurate Ukrainian to English translation. You can check it yourself as well.

Our translation engines are very smart; they adapt and learn; translation engines require a thorough knowledge of both grammar and culture. The talking tool must be familiar with both the rules of the language and the habits of the people who speak it.
The following are some of the most prevalent translation challenges:

Translation of Language Structure
Every language has its own set of rules and is organised in a certain way. The intricacy and singularity of the framework are directly proportional to the difficulty of translation.

Translation Idioms and Expressions
To illustrate anything, idiomatic idioms use one-of-a-kind occurrences or figures of speech. The literal meanings of the phrases it contains, for example, are unable to predict the interpretation of these unusual statements.

Words with Multiple Meanings and Their Translations
Compound words are made up of two or more words, although their overall meaning may differ from the meaning of their constituent terms. It’s easiest to think of them as three distinct categories.

Translations with a Wide Range of Meanings
The same word might mean different things depending on where it’s used and how it’s used in a phrase. This occurrence follows one of two patterns.

Solution: Avoid using dual meaning words in English

Translational Sarcasm
Sarcasm is a cutting style of communication that typically implies the polar opposite of what it says. When translated word-for-word into another language, sarcasm frequently loses its meaning, leading to unpleasant misunderstandings.

Solution: Avoid Sarcasm and subtle English

Although both procedures involve communication, they are not interchangeable. The process of turning a written communication into a second language with the same meaning as the original written language is known as translation. On the other hand, interpretation is concerned with two-way verbal communication.
